My McMahon family is from Galway, Ireland. My Great Great Grandfather is James McMahon B 1842 abt, in Galway, married to Catherine Connelly B 1840 abt. Their Daughter, Mary Mcmahon was born abt 1867 in NYC,NY. Later resided in Jesery City, NJ and Married Christopher Oliver Nicholson. I do not know anything about James, but my Uncle remembers in his youth family from Galway asking they come visit, and that Mary visited out west near an indian reservation, could be Oregon or Washington. I am visiting Galway in May 2015 and would so love to have any information of families there now and if I am related to them. Thank you so much

Good Morning, I am pleased to find this site. Maybe I can help others and myself. I have a great grandfather from Galway. I believe the family came from Keave/Clonrock area. My great grandfathers name was Thomas Glynn son of Michael Glynn and Bridget Kelly. Two sisters Rose Glynn White and Julia Glynn Larkin emigrated to the Boston area and raised families. I have a civil birth record for Rose. RC parish records are missing. Confirmed by research and local parish priest. God Bless

I am still trying to find out any info on the birth of my Gt Gt Granddad Luke Jennings, he was born in Caltra Galway in either 1780 or 1787 depending on which document you believe. He joined the 13th Regiment of foot in 1806 and served 20 years and 5 months, being discharged in April 1826. His future residence was given as Castletown Barehaven in County Cork, in 1840 he emigrated to Manchester with his wife Jane and children, he died in Manchester, England in March 1862, i would love any info. I wonder if any members of his family stayed in Ireland ?

Good day. I am pleased to be a part of this site. My ancestor Michael Boland came from Galway to Pennsylvania in the early 1800's. Can't find any records outside of his ship information leaving Liverpool, England bound to the USA. He was Catholic and can't find any records in Ireland yet. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciateit.

I am very grateful to be on this site. Looking for a William Guinan(e)/Guynane or his family. He immigrated to Australia before 1845. One possible match is for him being from Kiltormy, Galway. His parents being a William Guinane and Biddy Keenan. It's estimated he was born about 1816 to 1820. In Australia, he lived at Murgehbolac, near Geelong in Vivtoria. Married to Catherine Hickey in Victoria in 1845. Roman Catholic. Thank you for any help.

Trying to locate my grandfather's family. William Monehan (possibly Clarinbridge/ Cave areas) left Galway late 1800's with his two brothers (Patrick & ?) to Nova Scotia. One brother stayed and William and his other brother travelled to Australia. William married Sarah Ann Ryan in Maryborough, Queensland, then travelled to New Zealand. Would love to hear from anyone who may have a snippet of information. Thank you
